National Fellow Award 2022

The Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association is pleased to congratulate Dr. David Bell, Ph.D, ATC, for his 2022 National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Fellow Award. NATA Fellow status nationally recognizes members of the association who have demonstrated outstanding professional scholarly achievement in combination with service to the profession. NATA Fellows earn the prestigious designation of FNATA (National Athletic Trainers' Association, 2022).
Dr. Bell’s scholarly research focuses on risk factors for musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on sport specialization in children and improving outcomes after knee surgery. (Wisconsin Injury in Sport Laboratory - Department of Kinesiology, 2022).
Dr. Bell is joined by Johna K. Register-Mihalik, PhD, LAT, ATC, FACSM, Tom Bowman, PhD, ATC, Kenny Lam, ScD, ATC, and Rebecca M. Lopez, PhD, LAT, ATC in the 2022 Class of National Athletic Trainers’ Association Fellows.

WISCONSIN ATHLETIC TRAINERS’ ASSOCIATION (WATA) – HEALTH CARE FOR THE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE
Athletic Trainers are allied health professionals who provide care for active individuals. The mission of the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association is to improve the quality of health care for the physically active in the state of Wisconsin by the promotion and advancement of the athletic training profession and the licensed/certified athletic trainer. The Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association currently serves over 700 members in the athletic training profession.
